dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp)

The dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp) (DNF-905) is a qualitative kit for the automated and accurate sizing of DNA fragments between 1 bp and 500 bp. Specifically, this kit was designed for challenging samples; utilizing a specially designed gel to that enhances separation. Common applications of this kit include genotyping, the analysis of PCR amplicons, microsatellites, and SSRs. Note: This is a qualitative kit for the accurate sizing and relative quantification of fragments.

Examples

Qualitative analysis of DNA requires a well separated, quality, DNA ladder. The 35 bp – 400 bp Range DNA Ladder provides accurate sizing from 1 bp to 500 bp via well separated ladder fragments and markers. This kit is ideal for the analysis of PCR amplicons, microsatellites, and genotyping applications.

The accurate sizing and relative quantification of DNA is a crucial aspect of many molecular biology workflows. Some DNA samples prove more challenging to size and quantify than others, interrupting workflow and prolonging acquisition of results. A variety of factors can complicate the electrophoresis of DNA, including nucleotide sequence composition and structural conformation. The dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp) (DNF-905) was specially designed to ameliorate the issues associated with challenging samples such as size shifts and shadow peaks. Figure 2 depicts a 120 bp amplicon separated using the dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp) (DNF-905).

The amplicon separated in Figure 2 had previously shown shadow peaks and size shifts. Upon separation with the specialized gel included in the dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp) (DNF-905) the previous issues with the amplicon shown in Figure 2 were alleviated.

The dsDNA Reagent Kit (1-500bp) provides superior resolution, easily distinguishing between closely sized fragments. Figure 3 depicts 4 bp resolution between two amplicons, 119 bp and 123 bp respectively. Such fine resolution is made possible through the careful selection of ladder fragments and a high quality separation gel.
