While in attendance at The Genome Editing & and Gene Modulation International Congress, Dr. Kyle Luttgeharm presented on the Development of a high throughput screening protocol for rapid identification of mutated alleles. The talk highlighted work done at AATI developing a method to simply and efficiently identify CRISPR/Cas9 induced mutations within a target sequence. With most work on CRISPR/Cas9 focused on the efficient editing of genes and genomes, the work at AATI stood out as methods of mutation detection have lagged behind the ability to precisely engineer genes and genomes.

  • New Kit for Large DNA Fragment Analysis

Fast and accurate analysis of large DNA fragments and smears is of the utmost importance as downstream applications become more sophisticated. Traditional methods, such as pulse-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), are reliant upon agarose gels that lack precision and accuracy, and are extremely time consuming. To this end AATI has developed a new kit specifically for the analysis of large DNA samples, such as the next-generation long read sequencing libraries produced by Pacific Biosciences kits.
