AATI's new instrument is a finalist for an R&D 100 Award
For the past 54 years, R&D Magazine has presented the R&D 100 Awards, recognizing innovative technologies and products from respected universities and industry-leading companies. Frequently termed the, "Oscars of Invention", finalists for this year’s R&D 100 Awards include: The Dow Chemical Company, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Waters Corporation, and Advanced Analytical Technologies, Inc. (AATI).
AATI – a long-time innovator and leader in the development of parallel capillary electrophoresis instruments – is honored to be a finalist in the 2016 R&D 100 Awards for the development of the groundbreaking FEMTO PulseAutomated Pulsed-Field CE Instrument. The FEMTO Pulse provides unprecedented sensitivity and separation resolution, enabling various applications in molecular biology and genomics.
The FEMTO Pulse is the first commercial parallel capillary electrophoresis instrument to feature a pulsed-field power supply. Pulsed-field capillary electrophoresis coupled with a redesigned optical detection system enables the sizing of fragments and smears through 165,000 bp and detection of nucleic acid samples in the femtogram range. The unprecedented sensitivity and sizing resolution of the FEMTO Pulse facilitates numerous applications including: nucleic acid analysis from single cells, exosome analysis, and BAC clone sizing.
