Advanced Analytical Technologies, Inc. (AATI), based in Ames, Iowa has increased its production capacity by over 50% to accommodate demand for its newest product, the Fragment AnalyzerTM. The company expects to add additional employees to produce this instrument as production ramps up. Since the end of last year and through the first two months of 2012, instrument sales of the Fragment AnalyzerTM have grown significantly.

The Fragment Analyzer from Advanced Analytical is being used in a variety of scientific applications, such as: cancer-related research, autism research, biofuels development, crop science improvements, and testing for genetically related diseases.

"We are extremely excited about this expansion," said Mr. Steve Siembieda, COO of Advanced Analytical. "It will help us meet the high demand we see for this instrument, not only in the US but around the world. Sales in Europe, Asia and South America have all been brisk. Regardless of the language they speak, scientists and researchers tell us they've been wanting a DNA analysis instrument that provides excellent data quality and is easy to use. We are excited that the Fragment Analyzer is in our product portfolio."

"For the Research Park, Ames and the surrounding communities, an increase in production space by Advanced Analytical should be regarded as a positive sign and a harbinger of what’s on the horizon for the company,” said Mr. Steve Carter, Director of the ISU Research Park. “Over the last 14 years, the company has continued to grow and be a bright spot for the Research Park. In most cases, expansions by companies usually correspond with the addition of new positions, which is obviously a win/win situation."
