Fragment Analyzer drives growth for local Iowa biotechnology company AATI.
Since AATI's launch of the Fragment Analyzer in 2012, AATI has posted its third consecutive record year of core revenue for the fiscal period that ended December 31, 2015. "As a private company we choose not to publicly release absolute revenue and profitability numbers, however, after recording 48% year over year core revenue growth during 2014, AATI recorded 50% core revenue growth in 2015.” noted Mr. Brian Thompson, AATI’s CFO, “This success is a combination of several factors, the right product at the right time, planning and execution by all departments, and I'm sure a little bit of luck along the way."
Achieving this level of growth in 2015 wasn't insignificant, considering the company moved its entire operations from Ames to Ankeny during the 3rd quarter and has integrated over 20 new employees during the last nine months of the year, now at just 70 worldwide. The fourth quarter of 2015 also marked the Company’s 10th consecutive quarter of "quarter over prior quarter" revenue growth.
2016 has picked up where 2015 left off. January 2016 set a high bar with revenue growing over 81% from January 2015. "It's a single measurement point, but the trend has recently been in our favor," added Mr. Thompson, "Revenue is on the rise and so is profitability, for that trend to continue we have to accelerate innovation to bring the next right product at the right time."
