Protein PRO™
The Protein PRO™ 24HT protein analysis system was designed to perform size (CGE) or charge (CZE) based analysis of protein samples in a parallel CE format. The flexible design of this medium throughput analytical instrument allows scientists to adapt the instrument to meet changing and demanding laboratory needs. The instrument provides for the parallel analysis of 24 different protein samples and the system can perform unattended analysis of up to 192 samples at once, significantly improving throughput while reducing laboratory footprint.
Key features of the Protein PRO™ 24HT system include
- Flexible platform – perform size or charge based analysis of proteins
- High throughput capillary array – 24 simultaneous analyses in less than 30 minutes
- Direct UV detection of proteins – no labeling required
- High resolution gel – capable of distinguishing non-glycosylated IgG heavy chain
- Low cost per sample and low cost of ownership
- Integrated software package
- Full line of reagents
The flexibility of this instrument is unmatched. Unlike other instrument on the market, which have preset methods and capillary dimensions, the Protein PRO™ 24HT was designed to meet specific needs of the user or the protein of interest.
The Capillary Array Cartridges (CAC box) can be modified to meet laboratory needs.
The following modifications to a CAC box are possible
- Effective length of capillary (33cm, 40cm, 55cm and custom lengths)
- ID of capillary tube (50µm, 75µm and 100µm)
Additionally the system has
- An open software package which allows methods to be tailored to the users’ needs
- Interchangeable light sources, Zinc or Mercury
- Single wavelength detection at 214, 228 or 254
Several different gel formulas have been developed for use on the Protein PRO™ including
- Protigel-P – a general purpose separation gel. Dynamic range from 15kDa to 200kDa.
- Protigel A – a gel formula specially designed for separating the nonglycosylated heavy chain fraction from the heavy chain. The gel also has good resolution for small MW proteins.
