How the FASTEST TVO Kit Works
A 3 mL aliquot of pH-neutral sample is needed for analysis (buffer may be automatically added per the appropriate method to adjust the stock sample to a neutral pH of 6-8). Various dyes are used in the analysis: Nucleic Acid Dye is a membrane-permeable dye that stains live and dead cells. Using NA Dye alone gives information on the total number of live and dead cells in the sample. BRAG3 is a non-membrane permeable counter-stain that decreases the contribution of background counts due to extraneous debris, including dead cells. BRAG3 is a patented solution. Using NA Dye and BRAG3 gives information on the total number of live cells in the sample. Samples are analyzed on the Micro PRO™ using a defined method and results are output as counts/mL.
