Micro PRO™ Technology
The MicroPRO™ is an automated, flow cytometry based optical system specially designed for rapid microbial detection. Fluorescent dyes are used to label the microorganisms for detection and enumeration. After labeling, the samples are injected into the flow cell where labeled microbes pass single file through a focused laser beam. The microbes emit both laser-induced fluorescence and scattered laser light, which is optically separated and collected on independent detectors. The Micro PRO™ electronically counts and records each fluorescent and corresponding scatter event. The output generated is counts/mL with a corresponding pass/fail/ambiguous result for each sample analyzed. The MicroPRO™ software is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant with features such as electronic signatures and traceability.
Additional Key Features of the Micro PRO™ Technology include:
- Full automation – up to 42 samples can be loaded at one time and the system automatically performs reagent additions, mixing, and sample injection.
- A broad dynamic range of 101 to 106 cfu/mL.
- NEW! MicroPRO™ Media Kit detects bacteria, yeast and mold in a single assay and provides rapid results for next day product release.
- Both quantitative and qualitative measurements.
- Detection and enumeration of various microorganisms including bacteria, spirochetes, mycoplasmas, parasite cysts, yeasts, and mold.
- Correlation of the MicroPRO™ viable counts/mL with the traditional plate count cfu/mL.
- Counts/mL results within 4 minutes for direct enumeration protocols.
- Screening raw materials, in-process and finished products for microbial contamination within 18 to 24 hours.
