Microbial Monitoring of Process/Purified Water

Purified water is a primary ingredient in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, personal care products and many other industrial products. The microbial content of that water must be monitored to ensure product quality.

This graph demonstrates how the Micro PRO™ trends with traditional testing using R2A plates incubated for five and 10 days. The customer had an alert limit of 50 cfu/mL, and in every instance when the traditional method was above or below the limit, the Micro PRO™ provided the same result. In samples #6 and #10, the traditional method took 10 days to reflect the microbial content of the sample, yet the Micro PRO™ gave the same result in just 4 minutes.
