I want to Decrease Labor Prep Time
Although the cost of labor varies, the steps to set up vertical or horizontal slab gels don't. And the steps prior to separations are time-consuming:
- Gel plates/trays need to be cleaned, assembled and supported.
- Meanwhile, acrylamide or agarose needs to be prepared and poured between/onto the prepared plates/tray.
- Prior to sample loading, combs must be removed or washed out.
- Electrophoresis buffers must be made.
Post-separation doesn't get much better, as lab workers must still do:
- Gel removal.
- Staining.
- Documentation.
- Manual analysis of the results.

Fast forward into the future. The AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer can significantly decrease labor time and almost eliminate preparation time. That frees valuable time for researchers/technicians to undertake more important activities, such as result interpretation or experiment planning.
In a typical AdvanCE FS run, both the sample plate handling and technician face-time in front of the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer will take under 5 minutes.
After the instrument is prepared for daily runs (loading marker plate, filling deep well buffer tray and placing gel on the HPLC pump), sample plates are loaded onto the instrument and the operational software is executed from pre-set or saved methods. Subsequent runs draw gel and conditioning solution automatically through the capillaries from the HPLC pump; cleaning out the system and eliminating carryover. Analysis of results is also streamlined using PROSize™ Analytical Software.
