Company History

Advanced Analytical Technologies, Inc. (Advanced Analytical) was founded in 1998 in Ames, IA. This privately-held corporation is comprised of a team of highly-qualified scientists, engineers and support personnel whose specialties include flow cytometry, cell biology, microbiology, analytical chemistry, and optical engineering. The company has developed a rapid microbiology platform to replace the traditional method of growing microbial organisms on agar plates. The traditional method is very time-consuming, less precise, and can take days to get results.

On December 1, 2006 Advanced Analytical completed a merger with CombiSep, Inc., a company founded in December, 1999. CombiSep provides innovative solutions to accelerate pharmaceutical and life sciences research. CombiSep's core technology enables researchers to analyze up to 96 samples in parallel by capillary electrophoresis with UV absorbance detection. Dedicated analyzers with a complete line of reagents are available for performing physicochemical profiling of drug compounds and for performing DNA/RNA oligonucleotide purity analysis. Additional application areas include antibody/protein analysis and chiral separations.
